So today Rachel’s Challenge came to our school, Karns High School.
The Background
Rachel Scott was a junior at Columbine High School. She always knew that she was going to die at a young age…but that never stopped her! She would always tell people that she would impact people’s lives. On April 20, 1999, there was a terrible tragedy…two students that went to that school brought in guns. They killed 13 people, Rachel being the first, and left many wounded. After the shooting, they took their own lives. She always challenged people to show random acts of kindness and as impacted many people’s lives to this day and is still changing people’s perspective on the world!
The Challenge
- Eliminate the prejudice by looking for the best in others.
- Dare to dream…set goals…keep a journal.
- Choose your influences..input determines output.
- Kind words…small act ofof kindness= Huge Impact.
- Start a chain reaction with friends and family.
I challenge you to take this in and just think about the impact you could have on other people’s lives…with maybe just a simple “Hello.” It has already impacted Karns just today and I think it’s going to be great program and I suggest that you follow it! :) Showing Random Acts of Kindness can change the world!
”I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same.” - Rachel Joy Scott
